Today is my official Day 2 in the new company. Well, it is Day 2 and I am counting on... Starting from today I start to take over the Helpdesk. There are still a lot for me to pick up and learn from but one thing I certainly love is to be able to troubleshoot via remote desktop connection. Only when the problem can't be fix remotely then I need to go user's place.  Hopefully, I can pick up fast and meet the expectation of my boss.  

Sat in my first dept meeting this afternoon, it was 2 hours long but I believe it will be longer next time. There were only 6 of us this afternoon, next time there will be 8 of us in all! *faint* No meeting minutes required... hooray! 

Met up my old lunch khakis for lunch today! We have yummy fish&chip for lunch. Jokes as usual and a bit of  grumbling from work. Overall, it is still an enjoyable one. Tomorrow they had suggested to go Amoy but I am having second thoughts because Amoy is really far from my work place. To and fro will take me at least 20 minutes. I must really eat very fast or risk coming back to office late. Shall see how it goes tomorrow.

Boss had wanted me to take 3 days of Helpdesk duty, from tomorrow on wards I will reach office at 8.30am and going off at 5.30pm. Will speak to YYD and arrange the rooster with him. I am planning to cover Wednesday to Friday.

On the train this evening, I sent out quite a few sms to my ex colleagues - V, LL, I & P. Let them know that I have changed job and that my new office is near by. Will meet them up for lunch after I have settle down. And my settle down refers to after I am  being confirm. 

Day 1

Day 1 at work today. Reached office at 8.45pm, gave HR a call and start my orientation at 9.15am. By the time I went back to my office it was already 9.40am. Mgr-S showed me my desk, it was kinda of dusty and the cables were very messy... OMG. I don't even dare to put my bag into the drawers without first cleaning. Luckily, I bought along some wet tissues else I really can cry. The desk was really really very dirty and dusty. Wondered if the previous staff have left for a long time or she couldn't be bother to even do some cleaning. 

Colleague-D then start to brief me some of the Helpdesk procedures and at 10.30am Mgr-S start to brief me further on my job-scope and what is expected of me. By the time our session ends, it is already 12.15pm. That's how I ended my half day in office (:

It have been 4 months since I meet up with Mdm Lee! Meet up with J-san and gang for lunch at Taiwanese Porridge. It is really nice to meet up with the gang even if its just for a short 40 mins of lunch. We have had lots of jokes and laughter over the lunch. Went back to office at 1.20pm, noticed that my colleagues never seems to go for lunch or they had extremely short lunch? Colleague-D said they usually go off at 6pm and I wonder if it is alright... Maybe some of the day I will try to go to office earlier and I will leave at 6pm latest. 

Hopefully, I can get hands on fast enough and catch up with my work. Hope that I can pick up fast and be well on my own before end of probation period. 

One thing that I can't tolerate is the temperature in the office! It is unbearably HOT!!!! I really cannot stand it and I am going to bring my own fan to office tomorrow. Was thinking of getting a new one but on second thoughts I had better save where I can. Thus, I decided to bring the one I had at home to office instead. I need to save for raining days and money is not fallen from the sky, they are all my hard earn money... This is what I have "learnt" from the painful lesson.

Had wanted to buy Sis a slice of cake to celebrate my Day 1 at work but she is very nice to offer to buy me the whole cake instead. Blood is thicker then water and I am really touch by her gesture... I really Thank God for sending her to our family and be my sister.

Novena + Facial

Went to Novena with J-san after class today to thank Chairman for his blessing. After the session we headed down to J-san's friend's shop. The lady boss is quite a nice lady but too bad most of the clothes in her shop seems to be of smaller sizes. Nonetheless, I bought a bag there. I find the bag look retro and cheery, most importantly even J-san also gave it an approval stamp. Paid $56 for the bag, which is already after a 30% discount. I will go back to the shop another day but not so soon.

Was late for my facial appointment and it only completed at 5pm.  And after so many months, I finally bought the Sun Block. 

I have been 2 months since I last visited Grandparents. Decided to meet auntie G at TPY and have dinner at Grandparents place. They indeed age and lose weight. I should really made an effort to visit them more often.

Books Read - July

Okay, these are the books that I have read for the month of July. Not too bad, an average of 2 books per week. Thanks to Auntie G, who borrow these books and passed it on to me. Doubt I will ever get a chance to read some of those titles as the borrowing "competition" is really tough at the library.
